I stumbled across this site called 100 words which gave me the idea to do the same. The site encourages users to write 100 words every day for a month. It’s a fine idea which inspires people to write. Indeed it seems to have encouraged me enough to attempt to write something every day, even if it is a lot of balls.

Having read a few efforts of those who use the site I decided to post my efforts on my own page. The first reason is that they stick to a strict 100 word no more, no less rule which is all very well and good for a site called 100 words but the reason I want to do this is to get myself into the habit of writing. Starting to do something is the hard part. Once I begin I certainly won’t stop at 100 words.

However the main reason I chose not to use the site was simply because it was so utterly dull. Why in the world would I give a crap about what a bunch of strangers have done with their day? Do I really want to waste precious minutes of my life reading about how others have wasted the precious minutes of their life. Am I that concerned about the daily musings of Peter E.Z.? Do I really care about the opinions of S. Hogarth on Christian Bale’s gruff batman voice? No I most certainly do not.

Some of the stuff on the site makes me wants to scoop out my eyeballs and give them a slap for looking at such rubbish. So no I will not write my 100 words a day on your 100 words a day site. I’ll post them on my own site in the dark and dusty corner of the interweb where only I will read them and if any poor traveller happens upon my own dire attempts at writing I will happily assist them in the reattachment of their eyeballs.
