In a magical yellow castle far, far away
Princess Ren rose from her sleep to greet a new day.

It was raining outside, grey, cold and damp.
Which made Ren rather unhappy so she picked up her lamp.

It was enchanted you see, with a Genie inside.
And she rubbed it with glee until he appeared by her side.

‘Your wish is my command,’ he spoke, bowing his head.
‘It’s raining outside,’ she replied, blushing ever so red.

‘Will you bring out the sun for me? I’d like to go play.’
‘But of course, my Mistress, you must have it your way.’

So with a wave of his hands and a smile on his face.
The clouds were gone leaving blue skies in their place.

‘Thank you, Genie,’ she said, but there’s one thing more that I wish.
I’m wondering if it’s possible that I might have a kiss?’

She spoke very quickly as her heart skipped a beat.
The Genie just grinned and looked at his feet.

‘I’d like the kiss when you’re free’ she said ‘and not as my slave.
For I’ve loved you always and it’s true love that I crave.

So my last wish you must grant is that you set yourself free,
and come out to the garden and have a picnic with me.’

The Genie thanked the Princess and prepared to cast his spell.
He danced around the room as the magic began to swell.

It toiled and flared sending sparks through the air.
So Ren hid under a blanket, to protect her dark hair.

The lamp it shook and shuddered as the spell neared the end,
until finally it shattered to pieces that even magic couldn’t mend.

And when the genie was done he smiled at young Ren
and said ‘I’ll always remember his great day when…

You told me you loved me for it was then that I knew.
That free or not is no matter as long as I’m with you.”
